Aside from his live performances, Joel appears on more than 100 recordings as a leader or sideman. His albums include the critically-acclaimed "Don't Explain," a duo with pianist Brad Mehldau and live performances at Smalls and Mezzrow jazz clubs in New York City. He was featured on Freddy Cole's Grammy-nominated album "My Mood is You" and was a member of Dafnis Prieto's big band on "Back to the Sunset," a 2019 Grammy-winning album.
